Dual channel digital animation, 5.1 surround sound.
Installed at Gertrude Contemporary as a part of the show The Flux of the Matter, this two-channel work involved a slapstick routine played out by the two protagonists. The inherent naivete of the slapstick style allowed the two to interact with the more sophisticated “art-jokes” referenced throughout the sequence, subverting the contextual apparatus and prior knowledge these jokes rely on in order to work.
